1961 Gibson Les Paul / SG Electric Guitar - Cherry

$1,799.82 $2,999.70
In 1961, when this rev of the Les Paul was introduced, it was a shockingly different & clear departure from its cousins of the previous nine years. Les Paul himself even distancing from the "demonic" looking new body style, having his name removed from the models by early 1963. As time would go on, many in rock and blues adopted the renamed "SG" body style, with a notable players making it their own signature guitar. It is now one of the most celebrated models in the Gibson arsenal.

This first year - 1961 example is cosmetically in great condition, still showing great Cherry color and very limited player were. The original pickups we're replaced at some point with a great sounding pair of ThroBak ESG-102Bs, the frets replaced with larger wire along with the original the nut. There was a minor / pro heel repair done at some point which is stable without issue. This guitar weighs in at 7lbs 11 z and comes complete with a non-original hardshell case.
